Whether you’re coming to the City Centre by car or public transport, there are several options to get you to where you want to go.  


Wollongong offers a variety of parking options within close proximity to our City Centre. As well as on-street and Council-run public car parks, there is a range of parking stations operated privately.

On-street parking is free on weekdays after 4.30pm, and free on weekends (time limits apply until 12.30pm on Saturdays only). For detailed information about public parking options in the City Centre, visit Council’s website.

Wollongong Central Parking

Wollongong Central offers three convenient car parks. Parking in Wollongong Central car parks is free for the first two hours on weekends. At other times, fees may apply – please visit Wollongong Central’s website for details.

Secure Parking

Secure Parking offer two convenient car parks within the City Centre area, at 37 Market St, Wollongong and Woolworths Wollongong, 63 Burelli St Wollongong.  Details on Parking rates can be found on the Secure Parking website and may vary for each car park, you can also pre-book online.

Public Transport

The City Centre is accessible by train, bus and taxi.  There is a free bus which can get you around the City for shopping, business or to link with other transport options.


Wollongong Station is the closeststop for the City Centre!  This is on Sydney Trains’ South Coast line; find service information at www.sydneytrains.info/

Free Gong Shuttle

Cycling and Walking

Prefer to get around under your own steam? Cycling and walking are great options. Bike racks are available in Crown Street Mall.
